Can IBM's Change Data Capture (formerly known as DataMirror) be interfaced with DataStage? Can this interface eliminate "Staging" aspect from Data Warehouse design?
Yes DataStage 8.5 can be interfaced with IBM Change Data Capture of DataMirror 6.3. However this would not eliminate the staging aspect as it would read data continuously from the source and refresh it in real time into staging area. Staging area is just a internal place holder for the external information. However this depends on the design of the system. Staging area is not always necessary and can be avoided, however having it in design is a benefit and may be an overhead as well.
